RN's Shooting the Past is back in 2018 for another fascinating look at Australia’s past through remarkable, intriguing photographs.
And this time around the program wants to include your happy snaps!
Do you have a photograph in your family album which would make the basis for a great episode?
Perhaps it’s that scorching bush Christmas on the farm or the surprising story behind an eccentric auntie? Maybe it was the day your town was flooded or that photo of your grandpa working on the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric scheme?
Each episode delves into the story of a person or event and starts with a photograph. Pictures are a portal into the past, to explore a wide range of historical experiences — from colonization through to more recent events in Australia, such as immigration. In each episode, there are intimate family stories, as well as analysis and reflection, all driven by historian presenter Dr Clare Wright's curiosity and verve, driven by her passion for the past.
We'd like you to upload your photograph. You’ve got a month to send it in, so get cracking.
